Here you can see a hive being harvested. The hive box in the middle has been put on top of a new box prepared with drawn wax frames (that is frames that have been used, and are emptied of honey). One by one the frames are taken out, the bees shaken off and the frames placed in the empty box to the left. The bees all end up on the frames of the box underneath - where they become very busy dealing with the honey residues. When all the frames have been transferred, the top box is taken away, and a feeder is placed on top of the bottom box.
This viedeo has been captured using just a digital camera, withouth a tripod. The shaking of the camera is due to me having to avoid a bee or two while recording! Switch the sound on and you can hear that the frames are being emptied. There is also the sound of rushing water from a nearby stream.
